Along with the FAQ listed below, we have produced a ´Quick Start Guide´ to advertising your property with us. This is in PDF format so you´ll need to have the free Acrobat Reader installed to read it (if you don´t have it already it´s available free from here

Security Alert for Members - Beware of Spammers!
- How do I advertise my property on the site?
You simply need to register first, pay your low advertising fee (securely online) and you´ll have instant access to set up your advert which will go live immediately you have saved it.
- What are the advantages of advertising on My French Escape?
There are many! In a nutshell, Low-cost, high quality listing on a quality, well advertised, well supported site, run by a friendly team based in Ireland, who include French Holiday Home owners with many years experience! - a low risk, low cost way to increase bookings. Please refer to our why join page for more info.
- What are your fees?
Our great value fees are listed here. We think you´ll find it very hard to find a better home for your property advert at such low cost anywhere!
- Is there a minimum advertising period?
Yes, one year - but if you want to remove a property during this time you´re free to do so (your annual advertising fee is non-refundable however).
- What are your booking fees?
We charge a very low €10 per booking.
- Am I free to cancel my membership at any time?
Absolutely (but please be aware that our low advertising fees are non-refundable)
- How do I pay for my membership or add-ons?
You can pay securely by creditcard on the site or by PayPal and you will be sent to a secure payment page once you confirm your add-ons of choice.
- How can I highlight my property to get more bookings?
We suggest purchasing a Featured Listing add-on from within your Property Manager page. From a low €15 for 2 weeks your property will appear in the Recommended Properties section (on rotation) on the homepage and at the top of search results for your area. It will also appear at the top of the ´properties in this area´ sectio in our new Regional Guides (coming soon) for your Region.
- Can I add a Special Offer?
Yes you can and it´s a great way to give your advert that extra punch! You can set up details of your Special Offer (whether it´s a reduced rate, or something like a hamper for guests) and how long you want it to appear for your Property Manager section when you log in.
- How do I upload property photos?
After you register to create and account and pay for your advert, you will be able to log in to the Your Properties Homepage. On this page there´s a link to add your photos. Simply click this, navigate to the images (which must be jpeg´s) on your computer, and upload. You can upload up to 6 photos included in your standard annual fee at no extra charge, or add extra photos at low cost. Tips on optimising your photos can be found in the Members Quick Start Guide (pdf - requires free Adobe Acrobat Reader)
- Can I add extra photos?
At the moment your ad includes 6 photos. You will very shortly be able to add on extra photos (up to a max of 15 in total per ad) for just €5 each per extra photo.
- Can I take secure credit card bookings?
Yes - if you have a free PayPal account set up you can request and accept payments from your bookers by credit card. (There are some upper thresholds to payments until you have verfied your account with PayPal, please see their site for details). This is optional, there´s no obligation to do so but many bookers find it useful. You are also free to make your own arrangements directly with the booker to take payment by cheques/cash. You can also pay your membership fees by credit card or PayPal.
- How am I notified of a booking?
You´ll receive an email alert from myfrenchescape to let you know that a holiday-maker has made a booking request. You then simply log-in to to your member area to see the details and confirm availability on your property and proceed with the booking (or you can reject the booking if you have accidentaly double-booked for example and the requested dates are no longer available).
- How can Holiday Makers see my full contact details?
You full details are made available to the holiday maker after they commit to booking your property and you confirm availability (they´ll receive an email with confirmation and details) and you will also then receive their full details.
- Can I add a free link to my own property website in my advert?
Yes you can! It´s a great way to increase traffic to your property and provide even more information to interested holiday-makers. To avail of the free link, all we ask is you place a reciprocal link back to our website at www.myfrenchescape.com from a main page on your site, and email us to tell us the page where you´ve placed the link so we can check. (This must remain in place for as long as you have a free link out).
Where no link-back is in place we charge just €10 per year for a link out to your site and you will be invoiced for this amount.
- How can I edit my property advert?
Simply log in (with your email address (that you gave at registration) and password. You´ll be brought to the Your Properties homepage and you´ll see a link to Edit Ad.
- If I delete a property can I get it back later in some way?
Sorry, no. In this case ´delete´ means ´delete´ so that´s why when you go to delete a property you are asked for confirmation that you REALLY want to delete the property. All property details will be immediately removed from our database so we suggest doing this only if you´re completely certain you do not want to advertise that property. If you subsequently change your mind you´ll have to add the property back again from scratch. However - you can turn your property ´online´ and ´offline´ if you just want to take the property down for a while - this is your safest option if you think you´ll want to use your advert again.
- I have a very slow internet connection - can you upload my photos for me?
Yes but we may request a small administration fee. Please contact us for details. Wherever possible we encourage members to upload their own photos (optimising them first to reduce filesize can help if you´ve a very bad connection).
- I´ve forgotten my password - can you resend it?
Don´t worry! You can reset it very simply by going to https://members.myfrenchescape.com/forgot_password.php
After you request your password reset, please look out for the email from us (including Junk or Spam folders as ocassionally genuine mails get sent to there) - you´ll need to click on the link in the mail to confirm you requested the change before you can log in again with your new (reset) password.
(NB: As a security measure, we don´t resend lost passwords over email. All passwords are encrypted securely on our system). If you lose your password you must therefore re-set it from this link. https://members.myfrenchescape.com/forgot_password.php
