About the Location

St Lucien is a peaceful village in the Pays de Bray, which is cheese and cider country. In fact, Neufchatel cheese is the oldest of all the Normandy cheeses - and we think the best!

The country is rolling with picturesque villages and attractive valleys. The 'buttonhole' of Bray is a long depression running from Beauvais almost as far as Dieppe.

We are on the edge of the forest of Lyons, an ideal spot for both walkers and cyclists. There are also châteaux, museums and gardens (including Monet's garden at Giverny) which welcome visitors.

We are fifteen minutes from the spa town of Forges-les-Eaux with its famous casino, and fifteen minutes in the other direction will take you to the picturesque forest village of Lyons-La-Forêt or Ry, famed as the home of Flaubert's 'Madame Bovary.'

The beautiful old city of Rouen and the attractive valley of the Seine are only about half an hour away, and Paris and the resorts on the Normandy coast make good days out.
