Charroux Vienne (86), Poitou-Charentes Description : The Gite has two double beds and one twin bedroom to accomodate 2 - 6 people. The gite, a former watermill built in 1818, offers a sun terrace, fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable lounge with wood burner, one twin bedroom and two double beds. The crowning glory is a stunning grenier on the upper floor offering the most wonderful of bedrooms. The property is surrounded by streams providing a tranquil setting and superb environment for wildlife. The garden offers you the opportunity to play and relax. Three acres of lawn, a small outdoor pool, table tennis table and the petanque court opposite the house provide plenty of activity. You also have your own BBQ to make the most of the glorious weather and ample sunshine in the region.

About the Location The village of Charroux is a 10 minute walk from Chantegrolle and is a charming example of a Charentaise village. The Tour and Abbey are two fine examples of Romanesque architecture in France and attract tourists from across the country and beyond. Charroux has three good bars and several restaurants. If you're able to drag yourself away form the garden and its surroundings they are worth visiting. Other atractions in the region include France's leading theme park, Futuroscope; Les Valles des Signes (Valley of the Apes); several Plan D'eau's where you can relax and swim in beatiful lakes; market towns like Civray and Confolens; the stunning coastal towns of La Rochelle and Royan and of course traditional French Chateaux, woodland and countryside.
Notes for guests All bedding and towels are provided, and there is a washing machine and ironing facility in the gite. Please note that we have also Bed and Breakfast in the large house next door, and evening meals are available on request. Prices are from 36 euros(single) up to 60 euros for a large family room sleeping 4. Cot available at no extra charge
