Loft in 19th century water mill cheniers Creuse (23), Limousin Description : Moulin de Sardeix is a 19th century water mill, one of a huge network of flour mills which flourished in the 19th and early 20th century, in the area of La Petite Creuse. The Creuse is France´s best kept secret, one of those areas which seems to be by-passed by tourists. It is about 200 miles south of Paris In our water mill we renovated the hay loft into a comfortable, large loft, with view on the river. All along the river, 10 acres, belongs to the property, beautiful nature, quiet and peaceful. The only sound one hears is the river and the birds. The water is clear andideal for fishing or swimming. The loft has huge windows, a kitchen, a bathroom, 2 double beds. Suitable for 2 persons.

About the Location The house is situated on the river La Petite Creuse. Since there is little or no industry to speak of in the region and agriculture is small scale, the rivers are un polluted, particularly La Petite Creuse. This makes it ideal for swimming.There is a weir across the river which was built to divert the water towards the mill racean the water above the weir affords a lovely uninterrupted stretch of swimming. The river is well stocked with fish and fishing is permitted. The main town is Gueret. The local village is Cheniers with a bar/restaurant, baker and village shop. `
