Maison Tournesol: Set in the Deux Sèvres region of the magnificent Poitou-Charentes, said to be one of the sunniest regions in France, this 200-year-old recently renovated property is full of original handcrafted features with magnificent fireplaces and log burners. The house -- which has seven large double or multi-bed bedrooms -- is furnished to a very high standard and provides flexible and comfortable accommodation for two to 17 people in different combinations (see tariff and conditions). Part of our garden is landscaped with a waterfall, bog garden, fishponds and secluded walkways and this area; together with the 9 x 5m swimming pool; is fenced and gated to ensure your childrens´ safety.

Description
The large lounge is enhanced by an original water feature and amply furnished with comfortable sofas, easy chairs and coffee tables. This room has a lovely open view of the terraced gardens and pool.
Dining Room
The dining room leads to the well equipped kitchen from the entrance hall and lounge. It features a large fireplace housing a wood burner stove. The expanding dining table has enough chairs for up to 12 guests.

The spacious open plan kitchen and dining area; here you will find a fully fitted solid oak kitchen with a professional range cooker, microwave and American fridge/freezer plus all the usual facilities.

About the Location
Bagnault is a beautiful medieval village on the Route du Chabichou - a gastronomique route of 200 km devoted to goats cheese dairies, organic farms and producers. The area is famous for Pineau des Charentes, the delightful aperitif; tastings are available at the many local producers or for something a little stronger visit Cognac! There are countless walks and cycle tracks with a wealth of wildlife and nature to explore. The area is charming and well worth exploring for yourself. Bagnault and its neighbouring village Exoudun has been awarded the status of "cite de caractere en Poitou-Charentes" only given to the most picturesque villages in the region. Vist the nearby towns of La Mothe St Heray, Lezay and St Maixent l'Ecole to experience the local way of life and sample the unique weekly markets selling everything from sun hats to garlic! There is easy access to the historic and ancient port of La Rochelle and the enticing Ile de Ré for chic seafood harbour restaurants, wonderful, unspoilt beaches, Aquarium, sailing and much, much more.

The two-bedroomed apartment, which sleeps six and forms part of the Private House Rental, can also be rented independently (subject to availability) at the prices listed as can the newly refurbished barn / gite (please enquire for rates and availability).
Private House Rate applies to 14 persons (or those persons listed on the booking form), extra people are charged at £70 per person per week up to a maximum of 17 people. Permission must be sought from the owners if any guests visitors stay at the property during the rental and a charge may be made at their discretion. The owners may be resident on site within the confines of the estate, for all or part of the rental period.
Payment made on-line is preferred or by UK cheque, however payment can be made via PAYPAL. All Paypal fees to be paid by the renter. Prices are subject to change at the owners' discretion and are listed in Sterling. Refundable security deposit required. 25% deposit required on booking. During the winter months a separate charge may be levied to cover extraordinary heating costs.
