Double Bedroom, Twin Bedroom, Single Bedroom with ample room for a guest bed, Large Double Sofa Bed in Lounge, + the 4th Bedroom can be used as a Single Room with guest bed, or a Dressing Room (living accommodation is all on terrace level, except for a small room in the Pigeonnier which might interest young teenagers). La Belle Pétraie offers peace and quiet 5 minutes walk from the historic medieval village of Issigeac with all amenities, and is just 15 mins. drive from Bergerac Airport and the bustling medieval city of Bergerac itself with its surrounding Chateaux and renowned Vineyards, and the beautiful Dordogne River. There are 3 top class restaurants within walking distance of ´La Belle Petraie´ - Restaurant “Chez Alain” and La Brucelière in Issigeac itself and Le Relais de l’Ancienne Gare a short walk out the Eymet Road. There is also the highly recommended pizzeria and takeaway, Casa del Seyrat, (actually visible from our garden) a couple of minutes walk down the road. In the village you will be lucky to find a table on market days at the Auberge du café de France (café, restaurant), Café de l’Europe “Chez Annie”, La Petite Treille (salon de thé, petite Restauration) or Le Lion D´Or (bar). In July/August, watch out for the Marche Nocturne (Night Market) where local food is available from several stalls and eaten at long communal tables in the village square by locals and tourists alike. The weekly Issigeac Sunday Market year round is also very popular with locals and visitors. In fact you can visit a different market each day of the week in one of the nearby villages or bastide towns, such as Eymet, Castillones, Sarlat and Beaumont de Perigord. It is also suitable for a teenager bedroom with a fold up bed, or for an office. The house remains remarkably cool in the summer heat. Oil Central Heating is available for the cool winter nights. There is a large double-sided fireplace in the lounge which also opens into the hall giving the house a wonderful glow. Garden features The Terrace is a sun trap and gets the sun all day and evening. It is partially covered if shade is required. There is a large cool 7m x 3.5m Pergola in the middle of the garden for those hot summer days. Teak Garden Table & 6 Chairs, Sun Loungers, Gas Barbecue. Fly to Bergerac from London Stansted, Birmingham, East Midlands, Liverpool, Exeter or Southampton. Alternatively, take your car across and stock up on great value renowned Bergerac wines and local cheeses. |

About the Location Gastronomic food, superb wine, pleasant weather, and a convivial atmosphere all await you in historical Issigeac, a medieval village in sunny South West France, with its winding streets, old timbered buildings, restaurants and cafe bars and, of course, its famous Sunday market, with its stalls of fresh local fruit, vegetables, bread, sausages, cheeses and wines, as well as clothes, cooking equipment, books, antiques and linens. Also, visit a market each day in various other local villages and bastide towns such as Eymet, Castillones, Sarlat and Beaumont de Perigord. Stop off at some of the local vineyards and their Chateaux to sample the renowned local Bergerac wines. Along the way, admire orchards and fields of yellow sunflowers spread out against the sky.
